How Must I Worship So As To Please God?

REGULARLY— “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some; but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25; Acts 2:42). God is not pleased when we let weeks go by without worshipping him.

GIVING GLORY TO GOD IN THE CHURCH THROUGH CHRIST— “to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:21). All worship must be directed to God through Christ and in His name [by His authority] (Ephesians 2:18; Colossians 3:17).

IN SPIRIT— “God is Spirit; and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). To worship in spirit means to worship sincerely and earnestly. Our worship must be free from all hypocrisy and pretension (Matthew 6:1–6; 15:8).

IN TRUTH— To worship in truth means to worship according to the teaching of God's word (John 17:17; John 4:24; Matthew 15:9).
